Our 5 ingredient Thermomix Panna Cotta recipe infused with vanilla bean paste is a classic, light and luscious Italian-style dessert.

Glasses filled with panna cotta and berries.

Panna Cotta is a famous Italian dessert made with cream, milk and sugar then firmed with gelatine.

Our Thermomix Panna Cotta recipe adds a touch of vanilla bean paste for extra flavour and is served with a variety of fresh seasonal berries.

While similar to custard, it's slightly different in that panna cotta contains gelatine which helps it to hold its shape.

This is the perfect recipe for dinner parties, Christmas or a simple dessert.

Why You're Going To Love This Recipe

There's something to lovely about this classic, subtle-flavoured dessert.

    • A Christmas Favourite - this simple Thermomix panna cotta is popular all year round... but even more so at Christmas time!
    • No-Bake Dessert - Simply prepare the mixture in your Thermomix, pour it into individual glasses or bowls and place in the fridge to set.
    • Add Your Favourite Toppings - I like to use fresh berries to decorate the panna cotta as they perfectly match the sweet vanilla bean flavour of the custard. However, you can use a berry coulis, grated chocolate or even caramel sauce to serve instead.
    • Prepare Ahead Of Time - panna cotta can be stored in the fridge for 3-4 days, making it the perfect dessert option for prepping ahead of time.

    What You Need

Just 5 basic ingredients are needed to make our vanilla bean Thermomix panna cotta recipe.

Please scroll to the recipe card at the bottom of the post for ingredient quantities and the full detailed method.

The ingredients for Thermomix Panna Cotta.
    • Cream - use thickened, heavy or whipping cream. Light cream is not suitable for this recipe.
    • Milk - full cream milk will give you the best flavour and texture. Skim or light milk is NOT recommended.
    • Caster Sugar - a superfine sugar that is perfect for desserts as it dissolves when mixed with the ingredients.
    • Vanilla - for the best results and flavour, use a vanilla bean paste. This will give you the most delicious vanilla infused flavour. You 'can' use vanilla extract, but the flavour will not be as good.
    • Gelatine Leaves - or gelatine powder. See recipe notes below.

    FAQs

Can I make this panna cotta recipe in any of the Thermomix models?

    Yes you can!

How else could I decorate the panna cotta?

Try a berry coulis, grated chocolate, caramel sauce or lemon curd.

    What are gelatine leaves?

Gelatine leaves are large clear sheets of dried gelatine. Once placed into cold water, they become soft. Squeeze out any excess liquid and then add the sheets to the panna cotta mixture. The leaves help the panna cotta to set.

Can I use gelatine powder instead of gelatine leaves?

Yes you can - please refer to the recipe card below for details.

The cooking time would need to be adjusted, I would also be mindful to check you don't exceed the maximum capacity limit of your machine
