The best type of potatoes to use for mashing are those which have a high starch content, as this will help ensure you have fluffy mashed potatoes. In Australia, potato varieties such as Desiree, Coliban, Dutch Cream and Sebago work best.

How to make Mashed Potatoes in a Thermomix

Step 1. Cook the potatoes with the milk until tender.
Step 2. Add the butter, salt and pepper and mix to combine.
Step 4. Serve.

Cheesy Mashed Potatoes - add 60grams of finely grated parmesan cheese to your potatoes just before mashing.

Tips for Making the BEST Thermomix Mashed Potatoes

Thermomix Mashed Potatoes
Equipment
- Thermomix
- Butterfly attachment
Ingredients
- 800 grams potatoes peeled and chopped into quarters
- 150 grams milk
- 50 grams butter
- salt and pepper use white pepper to avoid black 'flakes' in your mash
Instructions
- Place the potatoes and milk into the Thermomix bowl and cook for 16 minutes, 100 degrees, speed 1.
- Check if your potatoes have cooked through, you want them to be soft in the middle. If still a little hard, cook for a further 3 minutes until soft.
- Scrape down the sides of the bowl and carefully insert the butterfly attachment (the potatoes will be very hot) and add the butter, salt and pepper. Mix for 10 seconds, speed 3 to combine.
- Scrape down the sides of your Thermomix bowl and mix for a further 3 seconds , Speed 3 to combine. Serve immediately.
