Say hello to our favourite healthy Thermomix muffins made with the delicious combination of banana and chocolate!

These are perfect for a 'grab and go' snack, to enjoy with a cuppa or to pack into school lunch boxes.

Just like our banana chocolate chip muffins, apple muffins and blueberry muffins, these sweet Thermomix Chocolate Banana Muffins are so simple to make (and even easier to eat!).

Why You're Going To Love This Recipe

There's a LOT to love about our Thermomix Chocolate Banana Muffins!

    • Healthy - These choc banana are packed with greek yoghurt, bananas and naturally sweetened with honey.

    What You Need

There's no need to make an extra trip to the supermarket... our Thermomix Chocolate Banana Muffins are made using basic ingredients that you probably already have at home.

The ingredients for choc banana muffins.

Please scroll to the recipe card at the bottom of the post for ingredient quantities and the full detailed method.

    • Bananas - use the ripest bananas you have on hand! The riper = the sweeter = the best tasting muffins!
    • Greek Yoghurt - use a good quality, thick greek yoghurt like Jalna (or natural or vanilla yoghurt).
    • Honey - to naturally sweeten the muffins.
    • Vanilla - use vanilla extract or vanilla essence.
    • Coconut Oil - if you live in a cooler climate, you may need to melt your coconut oil first if it has solidified!
    • Egg - use a large (approx 60g) egg.
    • Plain Flour - also known as all purpose flour.
    • Bi-carbonate of Soda - also known as baking soda.
    • Cocoa Powder - use regular unsweetened cocoa powder.
    • Salt - a pinch!
    • Chocolate Chips - you can use either chocolate chips, or chop a section of a block of chocolate into chunks (for a cafe style feel!).

    Step By Step Instructions

It takes just 5 minutes to prepare our Thermomix Chocolate Banana Muffins.

    • You can use either chocolate chips, or for a cafe-style look, chop a section of a block of chocolate into chunks (just like I've done in this recipe!).
    • Add a few extra chocolate chips or chocolate chunks to the top of the muffins before baking.
    • The muffins are cooked when a skewer inserted into the centre comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs on it.

    FAQs

Can I use frozen ripe bananas in this recipe?

Yes definitely! Simply allow the bananas to thaw before using them to make the muffins.

Can I use natural or vanilla yoghurt in place of the greek yoghurt?

Yes you can. For best results, choose a thick good-quality vanilla or natural yoghurt.

How will I know when the muffins are cooked?

The muffins are cooked when a skewer inserted into the middle comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs on it.

      Fabulous no fail recipe!
On hand I made this with pantry ingredients
      I substituted
      Frozen banana (360g) thawed
maple syrup for vanilla as we were out
Half half butter and coconut oil because again we only had a smidge of coconut oil left
Nesquick instead of cocoa (you guessed it - we were out)
And a kinder chocolate square in each as we didn’t have chocolate chips
      And they’re SENSATIONAL
Thank you x a million. Lovely lunch box treats (if they last that long).

Been making these couple years now and just thought I'd take a moment of gratitude. They are amazing. I cannot wait until they cool down i already need one. It is so fluffy and delicious. My kids love it and i pack it for my lunches. I have never got to the freezing part yet as they are gone within couple days.

Very nice recipe, loved by my little boy. I used 90g of plain yogurt and they turned out good, and baked in fairy cases so got double the amount. Much better size for kids though!

Hi, can i replace 70g of coconut oil with 70g of butter for this recipe? I read in your other post, Banana Oat Muffins that we could do that.

Could you use a dairy free (coconut) yoghurt in replace of the Greek yoghurt?

Wonderful recipe. Makes a nice moist muffin. I replaced the honey with coconut sugar and it was fine. The only thing I would suggest if you are making them for lunchboxes is to put all the choc chips in the mix and none on top. While that makes for pretty photos, it results in messy ziploc bags!
