Our Thermomix Weet-Bix Balls are nut-free, freezer-friendly and a great option for school or kindergarten lunch boxes!

A bowl of chia, currant and weet-bix balls.

Like most Australian families, we usually have a box of Weet-Bix sitting in our cupboard.

I'm personally not a massive fan of Weet-Bix for breakfast (unlike the rest of my family!), but I do really like them in baking.

And these Thermomix Weet-Bix Balls are the perfect way to use up any Weet-Bix you have sitting around (including all the crumbs at the bottom of the box!).

These only take a few minutes to prepare! Just like our Apricot Balls, these Weet-Bix Balls and are a popular option in school lunchboxes.

Why You're Going To Love This Recipe

    • Budget-Friendly - made entirely from pantry staples, these Thermomix Weet-Bix Balls are super cheap to make!
    • Popular With Kids - if your kids like to eat Weet-Bix for breakfast, they'll love these little healthy balls!
    • Quick & Easy - prepped and ready to eat in just 10 minutes! This simple snack couldn't be easier to make.
    • Nut Free - as these bliss balls are nut free, they make a great option for nut-free school lunchboxes or if you're catering to allergies.
    • Freezer-Friendly - make a double batch and freeze for 'grab and go' lunch box snacks - they only take a couple of minutes to defrost.

    • coconut - choose desiccated coconut
    • honey
    • chia seeds -
    • currants - or sultanas

Step 2 - Add Extra Liquid If Needed

    Expert Tips

    • you can use currants or sultanas - however, I find that currants are easier when rolling the mixture.
    • if your mixture is too crumbly to roll into firm balls, add a little extra water and mix again.
    • once you've added the currants to the bowl, ensure that you mix on REVERSE so that the blades don't chop the currants.
    • if serving to children under 1 year of age, omit the honey.
    • store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week.
    • freeze for up to 3 months.
