Superb 👏
Lovely moist snack. I drizzled with dark chocolate, stunning.
Did wonder if it's okay to freeze portions?
Lucy says
Yes absolutely!

Hi there, I’ve just made this slice and was wondering how to store it please? And for how long? Many thanks
Lauren Matheson says
Hi, I usually store this for up to a week in a cool dry place like the pantry 🙂
Karel Barber says
Love this slice. I worked it out to be about 132 calories per slice. Would this be correct.
Lucy says
Hi Karel, yes that would be right.
Gail says
Fabulous recipe
Lauren Matheson says
Thanks Gail!
Yvonne Buters says
Does it make a difference if you use rolled oats rather than quick oats.
Wondering if that is why people have had issues. Haven't made it but thought about substituting rolled oats
Lucy says
Hi Yvonne, rolled oats just don't hold the slice together quite as well! xx
Jenn says
Fresh dates or dried dates?
Lucy Mathieson says
Hi Jenn, dried pitted dates 🙂
Helen A says
Not happy with mine either, very moist like too much water not enough oats?
celine says

Nicole says
Hi there, I've tried making this date slice 3 times but not having any luck - after step 3 my mixture is mushy and then it doesn't set in the oven - it comes out like a really moist cake not a slice. What am I doing wrong? It sounds so yummy but mine looks nothing like the picture. Any advice? Any chance the ingredient quantities could be wrong or is it my dodgy baking? ?
Lucy Mathieson says
Hi Nicole, I dont think you're doing anything wrong! That is exactly the texture of this slice - soft and moist. 🙂 xx
