Prep Time: 10 minutes
Servings: 16 balls

  • 200 g roasted almonds
  • 100 g pitted dates (see notes)
  • 40 g cacao nibs
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 3/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • zest and juice of 1 and a 1/2 oranges
  • good pinch of sea salt (see notes)
  • 50 g shredded coconut
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • Place the almonds, pitted dates and cacao nibs into the Thermomix bowl. Pulse for 5-10 seconds on Turbo speed (or until finely chopped).
  • Add the remaining ingredients and pulse again on Turbo speed for a further 5-10 seconds or until the mixture can easily be rolled into firm balls (see notes).
  • Roll the mixture into balls and place into an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week or in the freezer for up to 2 months.

You can use pitted dried dates or medjool dates in this recipe.
If the mixture is too crumbly to roll into firm balls, add a little more orange juice and mix again.
Taste the mixture as you go and add a little more orange zest, sea salt, turmeric or cinnamon to suit your taste.
