Thermomix Mashed Potatoes

Our Thermomix Mashed Potatoes is simple to make and goes perfectly with any family meal.

Equipment

  • Butterfly attachment

Ingredients

  • 800 grams potatoes peeled and chopped into quarters
  • 150 grams milk
  • 50 grams butter
  • salt and pepper use white pepper to avoid black 'flakes' in your mash

Instructions

  • Place the potatoes and milk into the Thermomix bowl and cook for 16 minutes, 100 degrees, speed 1.
  • Check if your potatoes have cooked through, you want them to be soft in the middle. If still a little hard, cook for a further 3 minutes until soft. 
  • Scrape down the sides of the bowl and carefully insert the butterfly attachment (the potatoes will be very hot) and add the butter, salt and pepper. Mix for 10 seconds, speed 3 to combine.
  • Scrape down the sides of your Thermomix bowl and mix for a further 3 seconds , Speed 3 to combine. Serve immediately.

Notes

The time it takes to cook your potatoes can vary depending on the size of the potato pieces.
Make sure you don't over mix the potatoes as they will end up too thick and 'clag' like.
Use white pepper to ensure no black specks in your mash.

Mashed Potato Variations

While there is nothing better than classic mashed potatoes, you may also like to mix things up by trying one of these variations:
Cheesy Mashed Potatoes - add 60grams of finely grated parmesan cheese to your potatoes just before mashing.
Garlic Mashed Potatoes - add 3 cloves of crushed garlic.
